In June 2020, we formed the Freight Farms Open Doors team to address the lack of diversity seen in the urban farming sector and to make our industry more inclusive. Part of this work is acknowledging and confronting the historical and social phenomena that have created the inequitable agricultural and food landscape we see today. That’s what this blog is all about. And we want you to join the conversation.

We had the opportunity to exhibit at the 2022 FFA National Convention and Expo, and were blown away by the event. We were consistently impressed by the FFA students’ maturity and knowledge and their advisors’ passion. We’re examining the latest national and global trends. Good news! They indicate that 2023 is a great year to start hydroponic farming. From food safety to local purchasing and supply chain to healthy eating and environmental sustainability, recent studies and events suggest that now is the time to start a hydroponic farm.
