Job Summary
Freight Farms is a high growth, fast-paced, driven and highly entrepreneurial company. We are looking for a Director of Supply Chain to oversee the organization's manufacturing processes and all supply chain functions including, but not limited to, purchasing, production, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, material forecasting, capacity planning and sourcing, master scheduling, inventory control and financial costing. The role requires a leader that can develop detailed strategic plans to support manufacturing organizational growth plans, has the experience required to develop a well-balanced team that can support the future needs of the business, and has a track record of superior execution and results.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership to in-house manufacturing efforts to ensure JIT production
to meet demand. Implement lean manufacturing/six sigma/continuous improvement methodologies to ensure efficiency and quality in manufacturing processesEvaluate domestic 3rd party Contract Manufacturing Organizations and finalize a partner by end of 2025 to be able to meet growth objectives. Evaluate potential partners in Europe for European manufacturing to meet business
objectives as needed.Evaluate partners within the US as well as internationally to create the most effective network of suppliers to support regional customer demand. Evaluate domestic alternatives for all components affected by tariffs to protect margins.
Create redundancies within the value chain to reduce reliance on suppliers and eliminate business risk
Lead efforts to reduce material, labor, and logistics costs to improve product gross margins
Create standard KPIs to measure performance within the supply chain organization that supports business objectives
Provide leadership/mentoring to the existing team and grow team as needed
Manage procurement and inventory and establish controls to ensure the organization is operating at the highest level of performance based on key performance metrics, effective working capital usage and minimized supply chain risk
Develop and continuously improve supplier programs
Participate in existing and new product planning processes to ensure timely acquisition of materials to support product launches
Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
7+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing strategies across digital and traditional channels.
Strong understanding of data analytics and performance metrics to drive marketing decisions.
Expertise in brand management, content marketing, and customer acquisition strategies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives.
Ability to think strategically while being hands-on in execution.
Lead negotiation efforts for all major supplier contracts
Create and manage detailed product and departmental operating budgets
Manage all functions involved in the planning, purchasing, warehousing and control of materials from forecasting replenishment needs to the delivery of the finished product into inventory and delivery of finished products to
customer(s)Collaborate cross-functionally and promote effective communication across the entire organization, particularly with the engineering and customer experience teams to ensure complete product feedback loop
Provide hands-on engagement to drive results and ensure proper execution
Qualification/Skills/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s Degree highly desirable). Advanced certifications are a plus.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and/or progressive experience in other supply chain functions
Must be a combination of hands-on leader as well as strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution
Proven leadership skills in building and managing teams with a history of success
Experience deploying lean initiatives and high quality/continuous improvement culture
Ability to communicate with team and cross-functional colleagues positively and effectively and influence decision making to drive business objectives
Ability to critically think and be experienced in the use of problem solving and other 6 sigma tools
Prior experience managing cross-functional project teams in complex manufacturing environments
Demonstrated record of effectively establishing and managing a global supply chain
Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
Excellent communication skills
